Steps To An Effective Website

Your website is often the first thing people see of you or your business. In a matter of speaking, it’s your “virtual front door”. Most good business people don’t even realize how important that almighty website is. SiteProNews has compiled a list of what a good website should consist of:

Effective websites should include the following:

1. Your website needs to focus on a specific niche.
2. You need to do keyword research and although Google no longer gives weight to Meta keywords some of the other major search engines still do.
3. Your website should have the main keyword used throughout and each page should be written around 5-10 keywords that are tightly focused on that particular page’s topic.
4. Content is still King. Well written, focused content is crucial.
5. Meta titles need to include your keywords.
6. Organization of content should include headings and subtitles to make it easy for readers to scan the pages. Be sure to include your keywords in these headings as well.

  1. This is good advice Jay. Check out my site and tell me what you think … I think I’m following most of the rules you set here.

Ok ok don’t get me wrong I like your advice but regarding the niche advice I have found creating a website for a niche really limits you to how big you can become!

Sometimes I wish I would have maybe went to a more broad market but keep in mind I still love my websites! I just feel I really limited my growth opportunities!

None the less you have some great advice that should be taken into consideration here.

@bbrian017 I agree with what you’re saying. There are so many ways to target an audience or a
specific niche that you find yourself hurting your site more than helping it, IMHO. I’m more geared to keep the niche but make my posts on a larger scale but still relative to the overall goal of the site. Thanks for the input, it’s well received!
